do you think you know pheromones?

Back at school, we learned that pheromones are sex-related characteristic of insects to attract mating. In fact, this is used as a management strategy in insect pest by attracting them leading to a trap, thus, harvesting and disposing them accordingly.

However, new research showed that there is another function, or the basic function, shall I say of pheromones. Here is the link.   

singing as if it never happens

I never thought that I am so daring and literally unashamed of my croaked voice.

Before, when I was staying in the dormitory I only sang at the bathroom or in my room. I even have not sang in any of our videoke sessions with friends. In socials night when attending conventions, conferences, seminars, and the like, I made excuses to escape the portion when a participant will have to present anything - usually a dance or a song- even in a group. At home, I only sang during heavy rains when nearly shouting singing mode to the top of my lungs did not make any difference with singing normally.

But this afternoon, in our training at IRRI, I was tasked to give the introduction of our speaker at the same time an ice breaker. Bet you, I sang to lead the ice breaker. Beforehand, I told them to bear with me because I have a bad voice. My group mates kept on pushing me, saying that is okay. I gave in.

The best comment Ive ever heard was, "Ang honest naman ng batang to, sintonado nga, wala talagang kaboses-boses" (This child is so honest, he really had a bad voice, hes out of tune).

Still, I felt fulfilled. I did it. I thought I can not make it.
